We collect the following information when you use BeatzVybes:

Account information — your name, email address and profile photo, provided when you sign in with Google, Spotify, X or Apple.
Battle data — your artist picks, session history, scores and streaks. This is the core data that powers your taste profile and our leaderboards.
Spotify data — if you sign in with Spotify, we request access to your top artists to personalise your battle experience. We do not access your payment information or private playlists.
Usage data — pages visited, features used, and general interaction data to improve the platform.
Device information — browser type, operating system and IP address for security and analytics purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your BeatzVybes account and profile
To power the global leaderboards and The Vammies award system
To build your personalised music taste profile
To send you notifications about Vammies results and platform updates (you can opt out at any time)
To detect and prevent fraudulent or abusive behaviour
To improve the platform through anonymised analytics

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may share anonymised, aggregated data (such as leaderboard statistics and genre trends) with music industry partners for research and reporting purposes. This data cannot be used to identify individual users.

We use the following third-party services to operate BeatzVybes:

Supabase — database and authentication (GDPR compliant)
Vercel — website hosting (GDPR compliant)
Upstash — real-time leaderboard caching
Spotify — artist data and optional account integration

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Battle history is retained indefinitely as it contributes to leaderboards and The Vammies historical record. You may request deletion of your account and personal data at any time by contacting us at privacy@beatzvybes.com.

5. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
Correction — request correction of inaccurate data
Deletion — request deletion of your account and personal data
Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format

6. Cookies
